Producer’s Quote

Aurora Theatre Producing Artistic Director Anthony P. Rodriguez talks about Mary Poppins, “I have desired to open the season with a great family musical for some time now, but had not found that perfect show. When Mary Poppins became available, I knew that we had our show. Now the only question was, would we be able to produce a musical with so many very expensive and challenging production elements? Through the generosity and support of those dedicated to the arts here in Gwinnett, I’m happy to say we will have the resources to bring in specialists to make actors fly and to create over 200 unique and period-specific costumes for this production. When you have angels in your corner like Clyde & Sandra Strickland and Marshall Boutwell anything is possible. This show is going to be a feast for the senses and will bring one of the most beloved characters to life onstage at Aurora. This is the first step in an entire season crafted to take patrons above and beyond.”
