Directed by Jaclyn Hofmann

In this madcap comedy, female explorer Phyllida Spotte-Hume delivers proof of her discovery of a lost civilization, a brightly blue-painted tribesman she calls Luigi. But, are the most gifted minds in Victorian England ready to allow a woman to be a member of the prestigious Explorers Club? What happens next could shake the very foundation of the British Empire. Grab your goggles for some very mad science involving deadly cobras, irate Irishmen and vines gone wild.

Running Time:
Act I: 45 Minutes; Act II: 40 minutes
There is one 15-minute intermission.

Honors students studying Art Appreciation at Georgia Gwinnett College created photographs inspired by Aurora’s upcoming show Real Women Have Curves. After learning from a professional photographer, these students used a variety of perspectives to explore the conflict between the demands of tradition and education. They also demonstrate details of objects that may sculpt Ana’s, the story’s protagonist, realities.

“Gender Equity: Women in Leadership is Good Business ”

Nell Benjamin’s play The Explorers Club is a farcical comedy set in Victorian-era London that juxtaposes feminism in a madcap male-driven world of science and exploration. However, women with a strong presence in the modern workforce (both in the public and private sector), gender-equality and parity in terms of opportunities, and a gender-balanced workforce can actually aid in boosting and stabilizing our economy now and sets up for the future. Join us on Wednesday,
April 15th from 6:30pm-7:15pm
for this lively talk with a powerhouse
panel of successful women.
