A Musical Tour Through Latin America

Havana Son transports the audience to the tropics without a passport by taking them on a musical journey. Children participate by singing, clapping, dancing or playing percussion instruments. Their musical itinerary includes stops in Cuba, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Panama, and Puerto Rico, as children sample each country’s unique sounds and rhythms. These kids will be having too much fun to realize that they are learning about the cultures and different countries of Latin America.

Club Babalú: Celia Cruz Tribute

This October, Club Babalú celebrates the “Queen of Salsa”, Celia Cruz, in an outdoor concert under the stars. Powerhouse vocalist from Maimi, Jessy Diaz will be joined by Frankie Quinones and the ATL Sala All-Stars as they highlight the Grammy Award-winning songbook of the Cuban American legend, one of the most popular Latin artists of all-time. This night will be “¡Azúcar!” to your ears!

Six One Five Collective

LAC gets a little bit country and a little bit rock n’ roll all in one concert event. Steeped in the Music City mix of country, Americana, folk and pop (615 is Nashville’s area code), the sound of Six One Five Collective is an undeniable wall of distinctive harmonies and solo voices reminiscent of great American bands like Fleetwood Mac, and Little Big Town. Six One Five Collective is composed of award-winning songwriter/artists Jamie Floyd, Michael Logen, Nicole Witt, and Sarah Darling — a group of solo artists that have blossomed into one of Music City’s touring, performing and songwriting supergroups.  

Breach of Peace: The Freedom Riders of 1961 (Public Performance)

On May 24, 1961 19-year-old Jean Thompson boarded a Trailways bus in Montgomery, Alabama, with 11 other young Freedom Riders bound for New Orleans– and history. This solo play is a living monument to those remarkable young men and women of various races, religions, and backgrounds. Breach of Peace is based on true accounts of surviving participants of the Freedom Riders as well as many other individuals involved in the early struggle for African-American equality.
