Magic Eastern Ensemble returns with their unique sound that bridges Asian traditional instruments with a modern style of music. Living in a post-pandemic world, people have gradually learned to slow down the pace of life. They are spending more time with family and taking opportunities to reflect. Return to Innocence will allow the music from traditional East Asian instruments, as well as piano and MIDI, to discover the beauty of life everywhere. The concert will bathe the listener in a sense of calm evoking nature to exhibit the innocence of awakening the inner heart.

Cherokee Tales

This puppet show was written by playwright Kara Morrison, an enrolled member of the Waccamaw Siouan tribe and a descendant of the Cherokee Nation. Join Sequoyah one of the most influential figures in Cherokee history, as children hear about Cherokee culture and history, including Sequoyah’s famous syllabary. With the help of puppets and audience volunteers, this exciting puppet show recounts Cherokee myths about the creation of Cherokee land, how the brave Spider brought fire to the animals, the Trail of Tears and more.

The ingredients of time and memory keep interfering. The bread-baking process – the kneading, rising, shaping, and baking, all in real time – becomes a journey into the unpredictability of the world. On the eve of a significant birthday, the granddaughter of Cuban immigrants mixes the ingredients of her past – love, loss, and Cuban food – into a spectacular night that rises and falls with loaves that somehow end up in the oven.
