What distinguishes Aurora Theatre Academy from other drama classes is that students have the opportunity to rehearse and perform in a professional theatre, and their instructors are working professionals with years of real-world theatrical experience. In addition to receiving training to be a winner on stage, students build confidence, communication, and life skills that will be a valuable part of their bright futures.

We’ve got classes for ages 3-103, covering a variety of topics and interests. Your student will LOVE their time at Aurora!

Petite Players ($200)
3-5 Year Olds
Saturdays, 10/1-11/5, 10- 11am

Especially crafted for the very young accompanied by a parent or guardian, this session introduces children to the theatrical arts. Each week a new book is brought to life with you and your child through guided play, crafts, and creative dramatics.  

 

Monster Mash- Dance Workshop ($55)
Grades 1-5 
Tuesday, 10/18, 4:30-6pm

Join this Fright club. Put on your scariest costume and learn some spooky moves to songs like Thriller, We don’t Talk about Bruno, Chillin like a Villain, Be Prepared, and more! This high-pace course is great for kids of all dance backgrounds to improve choreography retention while having spine-tingling fun!


Paint and Snack ($65)
Acting, Grades 1-3 
Tuesdays, 10/25, 4:30-6pm 

Kids will learn the history of the calavera, or “skull,” as it relates to the Day of the Dead Celebration and paint their own. Equipped with a paintbrush and their favorite snack,  they will Paint their sugar skulls while listening and singing along to their favorite Disney soundtracks from movies like Coco! Great for Bilingual Kids! A great addition to Teotro Aurora’s Festival del Día de los Muertos. 


Heroes and Villains Stage Combat ($55)
Grades 4-5 
Tuesdays, 10/25, 4:30-6pm 

 Calling all Superhero Fans ! From Batman to Gamora and Spiderwoman to Black Panther! Put on your favorite Costume and come learn to combat on stage like the Pros!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

TEENFlix Workshop Part 1 and Part 2 ($145)
Grades 9-12
Saturday, 10/22, 10:00am-4:00pm

Students will learn fundamental skills for on-camera acting using scripts from popular teen shows like Stranger Things, Degrassi, Vampire Dairies, Euphoria, On My Block -Just to name a few! Great intro to on-camera acting and tv/film auditions.


Act Like You Mean It: Audition Boot Camp ($250)
Acting, Grades 9-12
Wednesdays, 9/14-11/2, 5:30-7:30pm

This class is for students looking for an edge. Whether is auditioning for a role in a school play, college entrance and event looking for commercial work. preparing to audition for high school productions and colleges. Learn valuable techniques for making character choices, scene analysis, cold reads, acting through song, and learning choreography for dance calls. Participants will be challenged and pushed to learn quickly while highlighting your unique gifts.


Pizza and Punchlines ($45)
Improv, Grades 9-12

Love to laugh and make others laugh?  Do you love pizza? We have an evening just for you – don’t miss this night of improv comedy and pie – led by some of Atlanta’s best comedians. After the workshop you get a ticket to that evening’s comedy show featuring Improv Athens from UGA!


Wand it Up: Magic Workshop with Magician Arthur Atsma ($55)
Grades 6-12
Saturday, 10/22 at 2pm

The Amazing Artur Atsma makes the impossible happen and is one of this county’s busiest professional magicians. After dozens of appearances on our stages, this is the first time he has ever offered to teach Aurora Theatre Academy students magician secrets. When you finish this workshop, you will be well on your way to astounding your friends and families with tricks and treats that both amaze and amuse.  

Precision and Performance ($200)
Thursdays, 9/22-10/27, 7:30-9:30pm

This class is an introduction to the fundamentals of theatre performance for adults. In addition to sharpening acting abilities, this course develops social and leadership skills while improving creativity, public speaking, problem-solving and active listening. These priceless tools build confidence in social and professional spaces.  This class will end in a showing of work to family and friends.
