#Matter & Black Flag

Jul 08, 2020

#Matter & Black Flag
by Idris Goodwin

Directed by Dai’Sean Garrett

This edition of Cyber Stage features two short plays by the Award-winning playwright, poet, and changemaker Idris Goodwin for multi-generational audiences to spark conversation about race in America.

#Matter
After a feud on social media, Cole and Kim sit down to discuss the difference in saying #alllivesmatter versus #blacklivesmatter, and end up talking about a whole lot more.

Black Flag
Deja, a steadfast black student from Detroit, and Sydney, a bubbly white girl from Georgia, are randomly assigned college roommates. These two new dorm-mates are excited to start their freshman year together, that is, until Sydney decides to decorate their room with a little piece of “Southern pride.”

Cyber Stage from Aurora Theatre will feature new plays, many of which have been created specifically to be presented in a virtual setting. Curated and directed by Aurora Theatre Associate Artistic Director Justin Anderson. Performed by professional actors from the prestigious Aurora Apprentice program, this new way to experience live theatre will thrill you while remaining safe and secure at home. Following the performance, the cast will take questions from the audience.
