In this camp we will learn all about Shakespeare’s verse and how to embody it as modern actors, but wait…there’s more! We must suit the action to the word, and the word to the action, which is fighting. Learn the fundamentals such as how to make a prop sword and wield it like the swashbuckler you are. The process and craft of developing a safe fight onstage and how to connect to your partner to put on an awesome show, the most epic deaths, and yet each of you walk away unscathed. Together, we will create moving scenes with timeless poetry and combine them with the newest technology to make stellar videos. Huzzah!

“It was a dark and stormy night…” Does that phrase send shivers up your spine? All the best stories have a great opening line that makes us excited and curious about what will happen next! In this camp, students will explore different classical forms of storytelling and create an original piece. Through collaborative exercises in writing, genre styles, movement, and character work, students will create their own original story to be performed live on Zoom to be shared with friends and family. Let’s get started, go ahead and finish this sentence, “Once upon a time….”
