Aurora Theatre Digital Series Presents

The Things They Carried & Bad Religion

Jun 03, 2020

CYBER STAGE – Special Edition
In light of the current circumstances happening in our country and community surrounding racial injustice, we have decided to postpone the performance of 12 Incompetent Jurors until next Wednesday. Instead, this week, we invite you to experience two original works written and performed by some of our incredible black AppCo Alumni family.

The Things They Carried by Jasmine Renee Ellis
This solo performance examines the metaphor of what black women carry in their physical purses while expressing the importance of what they carry in their spiritual and mental purse.

Bad Religion by Russell Alexander II
A tale about a young black boy coming to terms with identity, race, sexuality, and self-acceptance.

Directed by Justin Anderson

Cyber Stage from Aurora Theatre will feature new plays, many of which have been created specifically to be presented in a virtual setting. Curated and directed by Aurora Theatre Associate Artistic Director Justin Anderson. Performed by professional actors from the prestigious Aurora Apprentice program, this new way to experience live theatre will thrill you while remaining safe and secure at home. Following the performance, the cast will take questions from the audience.

Get your FREE ticket by reserving a space online (you will be emailed a viewing link the day of the show). This will be live and not a recording, so reserve your spot for the show and put it on the calendar. Space is limited.

Wednesday, June 3 , at 7:30pm
