Aurora Theatre has been hosting the best local and national comedians since opening our new location in 2007. Aurora Comedy Nights is hosted by bright young comedienne Katie Causey. Katie is a member of multiple improv and sketch comedy groups in Athens and in Atlanta. She is a recent UGA grad and an alumnus of the very first Aurora Theatre Apprentice Company.
Steve Mingolla is often referred to as “The Nice Guy.” Steve Mingolla never met a person he didn’t like. Like many comedians, Steve dropped out of college and moved to Hollywood. He landed a job as a doorman at the “World Famous” Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip. It was there that he worked with, and learned from, comics such as Dennis Miller, Louie Anderson, Gary Shandling, Sam Kinison and Lenny Clark, to name a few. After performing his set one night, Dennis Miller took Steve aside to offer him this advice, “Stevie, with my delivery I can use any language that I want and it is funny… you can’t! It just doesn’t sound right coming out of your mouth.” It was at that moment, Mingolla realized that although some comics become quite successful through the use of explicit language, his path would have to be clean. After all, he’s a nice guy. Steve stays busy touring forty-plus weeks a year all over the U.S. He’s done numerous television commercials, syndicated radio shows, corporate events, charities, military installations in Europe, comedy clubs and civic auditoriums. He has also appeared on TNN, Comedy Central, Liars and Legends and Showtime.
Greg Behrens is a comedian from Atlanta, GA. His likeable blend of sharp wit, honesty, and silliness, have won over crowds throughout the southeast and beyond. In addition to being a regularly featured act at clubs such as The Improv, The Comedy Catch, The Laughing Skull Lounge, he is also a longtime writer and cast member in Atlanta’s premiere live sketch comedy troupe, Sketchworks. Greg has performed at several festivals including the Limestone Comedy Festival, World Series of Comedy, and was most recently a semi-finalist in the 2015 Laughing Skull Comedy Festival. You can also find Greg sporadically ranting in his humor column, Gregular Thoughts, at www.imposemagazine.com http://gregularcomedy.com/Home_Page.html
Swift is a risk-taker who is definitely not afraid to go the extra mile to make the audience laugh. Swift’s niche is his sarcastic nature, using it to grab the audience and pull them into his world. Swift has been featured in movies and on television and is CEO of the Blacktop Circus improv troupe.
