Aurora Theatre has been hosting the best local and national comedians since opening our new location in 2007. Last season, the series outgrew the name Funny Fridays when Aurora discovered that folks love to laugh every night of the week. This season, Aurora Comedy Nights will be hosted by bright young comedienne Katie Causey, who will serve as host of the newly named series. Katie is a member of multiple improv and sketch comedy groups in Athens and in Atlanta. She is a recent UGA grad and an alumnus of the very first Aurora Theatre Apprentice Company.

Born and raised in Goose Creek, SC, Viet Huynh (pronounced like “hwin”) began his stand-up comedy career in Atlanta. Moving forward, Viet has quickly become a favorite at many comedy clubs and venues across the nation. Viet Huynh has put together shows such as The Affirmative Action Comedy Showcase, The Heroes of Hilarity, and An Intimate Evening of Comedy and Rap Music. Viet has shared the stage with many well known comedians and has won a few comedy competitions along the way. Viet derives a lot of his humor from his life of being an Asian-American growing up in the South, observational and nerd humor, and relationship issues. Viet co-hosts a podcast talking about Avengers and X-men Comic Books called Earth’s Mightiest Podcast. When he’s not performing, podcasting, or engineering he’s making custom action figures. Originally from Toccoa, Georgia, Chelcie got most of his influences from classic comedians like Godfrey Cambridge, Redd Foxx, Don Rickles, Nipsey Russell and Flip Wilson. After a couple of years of performing, this former class cut-up has earned the respect of his peers and audiences. He’s performed at numerous clubs throughout the Southeast and Midwest. He has performed at the North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival, The Laugh Your Asheville Off Comedy Festival in Asheville, NC and was a headliner at The Out of Bounds Comedy Festival in Austin, TX. He has also participated in several non-profit fund raisers for The American Diabetes Association and was selected as one of Diabetes Forecast Magazine’s “14 Amazing People to Know.” Visit Chelcie’s website
