Aurora Comedy Nights

Aurora Theatre has been hosting the best local and national comedians since opening our new location in 2007. Aurora Comedy Nights is hosted by bright young comedienne Katie Causey. Katie is a member of multiple improv and sketch comedy groups in Athens and in Atlanta. She is a recent UGA grad and an alumnus of the very first Aurora Theatre Apprentice Company.

Friday & Saturday, January 20 & 21
7:15pm and 9:15pm

Tickets $18
Aurora Theatre offers a Full Bar and there is NO two-drink minimum.

Katie Causey is an actor and comedian living in Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated from the University of Georgia (with two degrees she’s currently not using) and was a member of the first ever Apprenticeship Company at the Aurora Theatre. Since completing the Apprenticeship Katie has immersed herself in Atlanta’s ever growing film industry working with Burger King, the PGA, and Coca-Cola for a variety of commercials. Katie’s main passion, however, is comedy. Whether she is performing stand-up, improvising with the group, BANSHEE Improv, or acting, Katie loves making people laugh. When performing stand-up, Katie enjoys making current events as silly as possible and sharing stories from her time growing up in middle Georgia. Headliner Scotty K
Comedian Scotty K is a New York-born and Alabama-raised “preacher’s kid.” He learned early on that the best way to make friends was to make people laugh. Though very likeable, it finally made sense as to why he had been put in “time out” over a million times, when he was finally diagnosed with ADHD after college graduation (something he views as a blessing…not a disability at all). Scotty’s early career was spent counseling teens in drug rehabilitation and group homes, which helped develop his light-hearted perspective on life.

For over a decade now, Scotty has been a headlining comic, winning crowds internationally with his high energy and animated performances. With improv, characterizations, and music, his content is smart, creative, and fun for all audiences – even your momma! Scotty’s material ranges from growing up in the South, to family, relationship dynamics, and cultural differences. His aim is to bring laughter, as well as joy to his audiences (Nehemiah 8:10). At the end of his show, you feel you have been entertained and inspired.

Scotty K has been seen on seen on BET’s Comic View, Comcast Comedy Spotlight, TBS, NBC, colleges, churches, and yes, even The Weather Channel. He has been heard on nationally syndicated radio shows, such as Rick and Bubba, The Bob and Tom Show, and Bob and Sheri. Scotty has shared the stage with stars such as Brian Regan, DL Hughley, Joe Rogan, Chris Tucker, Craig Robinson, Ricky Smiley, and Kevin Pollack.

Feature: Travis Jones
Travis Jones is an Atlanta-based comedian whose act is witty, funny, and weird while remaining relatable to audiences – which is part of why he has been described as “The Pixies of Comedy”. He has had the pleasure of working with greats such as Greg Proops and Dana Gould and was selected to perform in The Laughing Skull Comedy Festival, Red Clay Comedy Festival, New South Comedy Fest, NY Sketch Fest and more.
