Feeding Beatrice

Kymberli (she/her) is an actor from Atlanta. She was most recently seen on tour with Georgia Ensemble Theatre (Dragons Love Tacos, She Persisted: The Musical). She completed AppCo 22 and has been featured in Aurora productions such as Reindeer Games 2022, Feeding Beatrice, and Christmas Canteen 2021. She also portrayed Soraya in the award winning Atlanta Fringe production of Sister, Braid My Hair. After a successful Shrek! Bringing Down the House class this spring, she has high hopes for this upcoming session.

CHRISTOPHER HAMPTON is honored join the Aurora Theatre for the first time since playing Ed Boone in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. Christopher has been seen recently in the Alliance Theatre's production of A Christmas Carol, and having his original play Cracking Zeus produced for their Spotlight Series. Christopher is honored to be part of a such a poignant and entertaining play and to work with artists he has looked up to since he was a student at Tri-Cities High School. He is thankful for his family and his wife Dr. Brittany Woodard-Hampton for their support. Christopher and Brittany are also co-owners of The Point of Health Wellness Center (www.healthatthepoint.com).

Sean M. Dale is a classically trained actor based in Atlanta and he is excited to make his Aurora Theatre debut! Sean earned his MFA in Acting from East 15 Acting School in London and has played roles ranging from William in Lobby Hero and Arturo Ui in the titular role, to Caliban in the Tempest. He has performed on various stages throughout the UK, including a training residency at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. He was most recently seen in Alliance Theatre’s production of Hands Up. He is also the Artistic Director of Borderless Theatre Company, where he has produced various plays via the podcast Radio Plays. Off the stage, Sean is fluent in Italian, enjoys tennis, and wine tasting with his wife. 

MEG JOHNS (She/Her) is a past acting apprentice at the Aurora Theatre. She has been seen in Christmas Canteen, Rock the Presidents, and Cat in the Hat during her Appco year (2019-2020). Favorite credits include Cat in the Hat (National Tour), A Chorus Line (Cassie), and Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike! (Nina). Meg graduated with a BFA in Music Theatre Performance from Central Michigan University. She is so grateful to be returning to Aurora Theatre’s stage! 

RJ thinks bios are weird, but also is unsure how weird normal is yet....hence the bio. When not playing pretend  philosopher, RJ can be found extracting humor from life, and marveling at the interconnectedness; involved in the daily spectrum of mundane to exciting moments and experiences.

Gillian is an Atlanta-based actor for both the stage and screen. She's thrilled to be making her Aurora Theatre debut! An Oglethorpe University graduate and an apprentice alum for Actor's Express, Gillian has worked with some of Atlanta's finest: Freddie Ashley, Richard Garner, Mira Hirsch, Susan Booth, and many others. Recent Atlanta credits: Darlin' Cory (Clara/Cory), Fun Home (U/S Alison, Medium Alison), Skintight (U/S Jodi), Cabaret (Sally Bowles). Offstage, Gillian is signed with People Store and has a supporting role in Emergency, a film opening Sundance 2022. Upcoming films include Evolution of Nate Gibson and The Re-Education of Molly Singer.

ANTHONY RODRIGUEZ (he/him) a career non-profit leader, is proud to be the first Executive Director of the Hub404 Conservancy. HUB404 is an innovative 9-acre “cap park” that will soar above GA 400 and provide a direct connection to MARTA’s Buckhead rail station. HUB404 will create a dynamic, active, gathering place for the Metro-Atlanta region and transform the core of Buckhead. Prior to joining HUB404, Anthony was President and CEO of Aurora Theatre, a professional theatre he co-founded 26 years ago. He currently serves on various boards, both nationally and locally, including Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, National Alliance for Musical Theatre (Vice President), Theatre Communications Group, the Citizens Advisory Board for Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful, and the Advisory Board for Public Broadcasting Atlanta which includes the NPR station WABE and PBS station PBA30. Anthony is a past Chair of the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, the first Latino and first Arts Leader to hold that position. He served as Vice Chair of Arts for the Chamber and Chair of Partnership Gwinnett and serves on the National Steering Committee for the Latinx Theatre Commons. Anthony is a graduate of the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Regional Leadership Institute, Leadership Atlanta (#2classes) and the National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures’ Leadership Institute and Advocacy Institute. Anthony, born in New York, and raised in Atlanta, graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre. He resides in Duluth with his partner in life, Ann-Carol Pence, and their dog Bella.

ANN-CAROL PENCE (Co-Founder/Producing Artistic Director) arranged the music for Aurora’s first Christmas Canteen in 1996 and was hired full-time in September of 1998 as Resident Musical Director. An education major at James Madison University, she used her background to develop Learning Library (or L2). As a musician, she created Aurora’s Musicals by Moonlight, and Aurora’s New Musical Initiative. She has performed as pianist and music director both nationally (Goodspeed Opera House, Pasadena Playhouse, The Cleveland Playhouse, The Kennedy Center) and locally (The Alliance, Theatrical Outfit, The Horizon, Georgia Ensemble Theatre,). As a proud citizen of Gwinnett, Ann-Carol is most proud of Aurora Theatre winning the first ever Pinnacle Award for Large Non-Profit, and the first ever Moxie Award (for woman-led businesses) for Aurora Theatre. These distinctions go well with her 5 Suzi Awards for Outstanding Music Direction. She was a participant in the 2016 Atlanta Regional Leadership Institute and member of the “Best Class Ever!”

KATIE PELKEY (Managing Director) is celebrating twelve seasons with Aurora! In 2013, Katie transitioned to the role of Company Manager, having previously served as Resident Stage Manager. She also created the highly-successful Stage Management and Costume Apprentice programs that operates simultaneously with Aurora’s Acting Apprentice Company program. For five seasons, she worked as Aurora’s Educational Resources Associate developing educational curriculum for teachers to use in conjunction with Aurora’s TYA Learning Library offerings. And for over a decade, Katie served as Production Stage Manager for New Plays for Young Audiences, a prestigious TYA summer staged reading series based at New York University. She received her BA in Educational Theatre from New York University with a minor in Dramatic Literature. Many thanks to Michael, Maxwell, and Alexander for their love and support!

David Koté is an award-winning director, actor, and educator. He began at Tri-Cities High School of Visual and Performing Arts and acclaimed Freddie Hendricks Youth Ensemble of Atlanta. Koté earned a B.A. degree in speech and theatre arts from Dillard University and M.F.A. in directing from Indiana University. His theatre credits include Jitney, Pill Hill, In the Red and Brown Water, Purlie, Flyin’ West, Once on this Island, Times, The Last Season, Joe Turner's Come and Gone, My Children! My Africa! And Macbeth. He has also appeared in HBO's A Lesson Before Dying, CBS's Mama Flora's Family and TNT's Passing Glory. He has performed in South Africa, Belgium, Amsterdam and all over the United States. Koté served as Director of Theatre Arts at Tri-Cities High School Visual and Performing Arts Magnet where he received many awards for his work including The Charles Loridans Foundation for excellence and leadership in theatre education. Kote’s production of The Color Purple at Actor’s Express is 2019 Suzi Bass Award winner for Outstanding Production-Musical and Outstanding Direction Musical.

ANGELA HARRIS is a choreographer, Director and the Executive Artistic Director of Dance Canvas, Inc., a career development organization for emerging professional choreographers and youth. Angela is originally from Baltimore, MD and a graduate of The Baltimore School for the Arts. She trained at Dance Theater of Harlem, School of the Hartford Ballet & Eglevsky Ballet. She attended Mercyhurst College and City College of New York, earning a B.A. in Journalism, while dancing on a full ballet scholarship at Steps on Broadway in NYC. Angela danced professionally with The Georgia Ballet, Columbia City Ballet and Urban Ballet Theater. She has choreographed for companies and academies, including The Georgia Ballet, Steps on Broadway, Ballet Lubbock and Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute. Her theater choreographic credits include 110 in the Shade (Aurora Theatre/Theatrical Outfit); The First Noel (True Colors Theater Company); Bridges of Madison County (Aurora Theatre). Angela was one of five Inaugural National Visiting Fellows at the School of American Ballet, the official school of New York City Ballet. In 2017, she received a SDCF Observership and worked with Tony Award winning director/choreographer, Susan Stroman, on the new musical, Little Dancer, during its Broadway Lab. As a director and through Dance Canvas, Angela has been a catalyst, consultant, and resource for numerous new dance organizations and artists. Angela has developed programs for the City of Atlanta's Office of Cultural Affairs, recording artist, Usher's New Look Foundation, and the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation. Angela served on the national Emerging Leaders Council for Americans for the Arts and was a member of the 2014 class of Arts Leaders of Metro Atlanta. She received the 2011 National Emerging Leader Award from Americans for the Arts and American Express. Most recently, Angela was a 2021 Women in the Arts and Business Honoree through Synchronicity Theater. Angela is currently on faculty at Emory University and is a ballet instructor at Dekalb School for the Arts & Academy of Ballet. 

R. LAMAR WILLIAMS (Stage Manager/ Co-Creator) is an Atlanta native who studied theatre at Florida A&M University’s Essential Theatre. His 20 plus year career includes these highlights: School Girls: The African Mean Girls Play with True Colors; Tree with the Horizon Theatre; Hands Up, Hospice/ Pointing at the Moon, The Temple Bombing, Steel Magnolias, Choir Boy, Carapace, The Fairytale Lives of Russian Girls, 19 years of The Palefsky Collision Project at the Alliance and scores of readings and devising/ development projects. Rodney is opening a new frontier in his career with Dramaturgy and Directing. Making World Peace 1 play at a time for Sensei, Jacinta, Chelsea, Solari, and my Momma!!!

JACOB ATTAWAY (he/him)'s dance training began at the Cobb Center of Excellence for the Performing Arts in 2012. Since then he has developed a wide range of dance experience including training at the Nashville Ballet and the Georgia’s Governors Honors Program. In 2019 Jacob graduated from Jacksonville University with a BFA in dance performance. In his time at JU Jacob worked with established names such as Stephanie Martinez, Jennifer Archibald, and Brian and Scott Nicholson. Jacob is currently a company member with Kit Modus Contemporary Ballet Company, along with being a full-time staff member with the Atlanta Dance and Music Academy. Recently, Jacob starred in the Aurora Theatre's production of Song and Dance.

Dr. L. NYROBI N. MOSS (she/her) is an award-winning costume designer with more than 30 years of experience in theatre and entertainment. The Play That Goes Wrong marks Nyrobi’s third engagement with Aurora Theatre. Nyrobi’s previously designed Feeding Beatrice in 2022, and Aurora’s virtual remount of 2 The Left: A Tribute to the Life of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes in 2020. Nyrobi’s work appears across Atlanta and theatres regionally and nationally across Orlando, New York, Virginia, Las Vegas, and Dallas, as well as, internationally in Holland, West Africa, South Africa, and Dubai. JANHAVI SHIVALKAR (she/her) is an actor and stage manager from Atlanta. She recently graduated from Georgia State University and is super excited to be a part of the Aurora AppCo this season. Previous Atlanta credits include: Safety Net (Theatrical Outfit), Bull in a China Shop (Out Front Theatre Company), and Tome (House of Five Productions). 

KATIE ERIN CHAMBERS* (Director of Production and Resident Stage Manager) is excited to be starting her 8th season with Aurora Theatre and stepping into a new role as Director of Production. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia, a member of Actor’s Equity, and a proud alumna of Aurora's 2013-14 Apprentice Company. She has previously stage managed in Atlanta for Horizon Theatre Company, Theatrical Outfit, Synchronicity Theatre and Habima Theatre. She has also served as coordinator for the New South Young Playwrights’ Festival, production manager for the Atlanta Musical Theatre Festival, and coordinator for the Atlanta Unified Auditions.

DANIEL POPE (Production Manager) is proud to be joining the great team at Aurora Theatre as Production Manager. Daniel has been a sound designer and engineer in the Atlanta area for the past seven years. He’s had the pleasure of designing sound for the Aurora Theatre on many occasions on shows such as: Into the Woods, Christmas Canteen, Sweep, and most recently The Bridges of Madison County. Additionally, he’s worked on countless other productions in the Atlanta theatre community including: Evita and A Streetcar Named Desire as Sound Designer and Production Manager at Serenbe Playhouse. Daniel received a Bachelors in Marketing with a specialization in sales and a minor in Music from The University of West Georgia in 2010.

DANIEL TERRY (he/him) is happy to return to the Aurora Theatre and to be working at the beautiful LAC for the first time. Daniel called Aurora home as both Technical Director and Resident Sound Designer for 5 years, working on countless shows like Memphis, In The Heights and the first production of Mary Poppins. Daniel is now proud to be the Technical Director at KSU’s Department of Theatre and Performance Studies with brilliant students whose work you will see on this stage and many others in Atlanta. ISAAC BURRIER (he/him) is excited to have joined Aurora Theatre as their Head of Lighting. Isaac has worked on numerous shows with Aurora including Christmas Canteen, Mary Poppins (2022), Swindlers, and several others as the Master Electrician. Before working with Aurora, Isaac worked in Nashville, TN as a lighting and scenic designer as well as a lighting tech in Raleigh, NC. Some of his professional credits include: Ordinary Days (Georgia Gwinnett College), Giant Squid (Woven Theatre Company), Lungs (Woven Theatre Company), The Whale (Verge Theater Company), Beneatha’s Place (Verge Theater Company) and several dance recitals with Rejoice School of Ballet. Isaac is also a graduate of Belmont University with a BFA in Production Design in Theatre.
