Preparing Students to Perform Like Professionals

Aurora Theatre Academy’s extensive array of camp classes for Summer 2018 are right around the corner. Enrollment is now open for a coveted spot. Aurora Theatre Director of Education, Jaclyn Hofmann, has put together an incredible team of teaching professionals, most of whom you will recognize from professional theatrical productions around Atlanta or from the screen anywhere from Georgia Lottery commercials to HBO. This summer, Aurora Theatre Academy will prepare students of all skill levels to perform like professionals. Located on the square in downtown Lawrenceville, all classes will culminate in a showcase in Aurora’s exquisite facility.

Aurora offers students both financial need and talent-based scholarship opportunities. Through the continued support of Scott Hudgens Family Foundation, Kiwanis Club of Suwanee and other generous groups, Aurora Theatre Academy is able to offer students the valuable experience of honing their craft with seasoned professionals.
Talent Scholarship Auditions
Auditions for the Summer Musical Camp Talent Scholarships, will take place during our Open House on April 16. Students will be sent four different songs from the show (Willy Wonka Jr.) to choose from which they may prepare for their audition. We will start taking sign-ups for auditions on March 29, 2018.

Financial Need-Based Scholarship Applications
For those interested in applying for financial need-based scholarships, applications will be available by April 10, 2018.

NOTE: Applying for a scholarship does not reserve your student’s place in a class. Please call the Box Office to put down a deposit if you would like to hold your student’s spot.


Camp Aurora
Elementary School Students Grades 1–5
Grades 1–3, Master: Grades 4–5)

Camp Aurora gives students the opportunity to spend a week at Aurora where they can learn what it takes to put on a performance. This production class will provide students with valuable stage experience, all the while encouraging teamwork and collaboration with peers. The experience instills a sense of self-confidence in our students. In these full-day sessions, students will be active participants in creating portions of the sets, costumes, and props for these exciting, whirlwind productions presented to family and friends:

June 25-29, 10:30am-4:00pm (Mini & Master) 
Tuition $300* per Camper



Aurora’s Bilingual Camp
Elementary Students Grades 1-5

This production class will provide students with valuable stage experience, all the while encouraging teamwork and collaboration with peers. The experience instills a sense of self-confidence in our students. In these full-day sessions, students will be active participants in character creation for these exciting, whirlwind productions of fairy tales from Hispanic Culture presented to family and friends!

Esta clase de producción no solo proporcionará a los estudiantes con valiosa experiencia en el escenario sino que a la vez fomentará el trabajo en equipo y la colaboración entre compañeros. Esta experiencia infunde en nuestros estudiantes un gran sentido de confianza en sí mismos. En estas sesiones de día completo, los estudiantes participaran activamente en la creación de personajes para una emocionante producción de cuentos provenientes de la cultura hispana para luego ser presentada a sus familiares y amistades!

Acting Edge Camp
Middle & High School Students Grades 6–12

The Acting Edge camp explores the craft of acting through various styles: Stanislavski, Shakespeare, Stage Combat, Improvisation classes, and more!

This two-week camp will culminate with a performance for friends and family to see!

Guerrilla Theatre Camp
Middle School Students Grades 6–8

Guerrilla Theatre Camp for Middle & High School Students breaks the boundaries of the stage and brings theatre to students in fun and exciting ways. Learn many of the styles that shatter the convention of the fourth wall, from Commedia dell’Arte to Improv Comedy and even Flash Mobs! You would have to be “bananas” to miss out on Guerrilla Theatre!

June 25–29, 10:30am–4:00pm

Summer Musical for Grades 3–12
(Student will be divided into 4 classes by age)

For the fifth year in a row, Aurora Theatre Academy is producing a summer musical! Students will attend three weeks of classes in acting, singing and dancing, as well as rehearse and perform Road Dahl’s  Willy Wonka, Jr. at the end of the session. They will do four performances on our Mainstage. Students will be taught and directed by some of Atlanta’s finest professional Musical Theatre Actors.

June 4-22, from 10:30am-4:00pm

Tickets are $7 plus tax. For Groups of 10+ please call or email our Box Office to receive a discount. Each Camper will receive 4 total complimentary tickets.


Musical Mashup Camp! Grades 3–8

Spend 2 weeks singing, acting, and dancing in preparation for a Musical Cabaret performance!

July 9–20, 10:30am–4:00pm
Tuition $500* per Camper

Financial Need-Based Scholarship Applications will be available starting Mon, April 10. 

*There is a one time New Student Registration Fee of $25, if applicable. Discounts available for multiple sessions and/or siblings registering together.
Pre-booking guarantees your spot in one of our classes. Enrollment in each class is limited to 15 students.
