An Aurora Theatre original and Gwinnett’s longest-running theatrical holiday tradition, Christmas Canteen 2017 returns this November for a 22nd smash year! Audiences love this stunning musical revue, a Winter Wonderland that just keeps getting better! Filled with songs of the season, sketch comedy, amazing theatrics and a touch of nostalgia, Christmas Canteen 2017 is the perfect recipe for a very Merry Christmas! This year with new hosts Caroline & Nick Arapoglou.

JEN MACQUEEN* has choreographed Off -Broadway productions of Cannibal: The Musical, A Birthday Surprise, Mag Mor, and The Broadway Dance Outlet, and national tours of Red Hot and Cole and Promises, Promises. Her regional credits include Mary Poppins, Kiss Me Kate, Barnum, Dante’s Inferno (cyr portions), A Chorus Line, Singin’ in the Rain, Sweet Charity, Disney’s Beauty & the Beast, Smokey Joe’s Café, Cabaret, Annie Get Your Gun, Illyria, Fiddler On the Roof, Chicago, A Year With Frog & Toad, The It Girl, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Company, Anything Goes, Guys & Dolls, The World Goes ‘Round, Pippin, and many others. For the past 20 years, Jen has taught workshops and set works all over the United States. He was last seen in all 3 of Aurora’s “Musicals by Moonlight” concerts: In the Heights, Memphis, and Hairspray as well as Aurora/Theatrical Outfit’s co-production of In the Heights. Regional credits: Once on This Island, James and the Giant Peach (Georgia Ensemble Theater), Blackberry Daze (Horizon Theatre Company), The Dancing Granny (Alliance Theatre), Ravished (Theater Emory), Dreamgirls, The Mousetrap, A Christmas Carol (Milwaukee Repertory Theater). CHANI MAISONET* is so excited to join Aurora's Christmas Canteen this year! Chani is a proud Vocal Performance/Joel A. Katz Music and Entertainment Business alumna of Kennesaw State University. She was recently seen as a featured soloist in Holler If Ya Hear Me in Kenny Leon's True Colors Theater Company, Florika in Aurora and Theatreical Outfit's co-production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Nina 2 in Simply Simone at Theatrical Outfit, Wind in The Alliance Debut of The Dancing Granny, and Morales in the Atlanta Lyric production of A Chorus Line. Next, you will see Chani as Beverly in Theatrical Outfit's Production of 110 In The Shade, coming soon in 2018. When Chani is not performing, she actively gives back and loves to share her driving passion for her two favorite art forms: working as vocal coach by day and teaching dance by night. CECIL WASHINGTON JR.* of Birmingham, AL, received his B.A. in Theatre Arts from Alabama State University along with a certificate in film and television from The New York school of Dramatic Arts in Manhattan, NY. Cecil was last seen at Aurora as Benny in Aurora's Musicals by Moonlight presentation of In the Heights; also, as Marius Pontmercy in Les Miserábles and Delray Jones in Memphis; Cecil has also appeared on "Law & Order", numerous independent films, autobiographies, promotional videos, and several commercials. ANTHONY P. RODRIGUEZ (Producing Artistic Director/Co-Founder) Aurora Theatre opened in the summer of 1996 and Anthony Rodriguez and Ann-Carol Pence established Aurora Theatre, Inc. as a non-profit organization in 1999. Under their leadership, the theatre grew from 120 season subscribers to the 5100 subscribers Aurora Theatre currently boasts. Aurora’s success led to an ABBY Award nomination in 2002 for Arts Professional of the Year. Mr. Rodriguez’s greatest accomplishment to date was the successful negotiation to relocate Aurora Theatre to downtown Lawrenceville, Georgia where it serves as the cornerstone for their revitalization. This nearly $7.5 million complex houses 2 theatres, rehearsal space and offices and opened in the spring of 2007. Aurora’s accomplishments include: Learning Library, an Educational Theatre Program, Aurora’s Apprenticeship for recent college graduates, Aurora Academy and Conservatory where students learn about theatre from working professionals, Aurora’s Musicals by Moonlight an annual outdoor summer concert, Cabaret and Comedy Series musical and stand-up comedy evenings between mainstage events, and Teatro Aurora, a professional Spanish-language theatre company that was created to highlight Latino cultural heritage and to help build social bridges in our community. Anthony is currently Chair of the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, he is the first Latino and Arts leader to serve in that position and is past Chair of Partnership Gwinnett. Mr. Rodriguez is a member of Screen Actor’s Guild, Theatre Communications Group, Duluth Rotary Club, and the national steering committee for the Latino Theatre Commons. Mr. Rodriguez is a graduate of Marist High School, the University of Georgia with a BFA in theatre, the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Regional Leadership Institute and the National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures’ Leadership Institute and Advocacy Institute. Mr. Rodriguez is a Cancer Survivor and has been cancer free for 25 years.

ANN-CAROL PENCE arranged the music for Aurora’s first Christmas Canteen in 1996 and was hired full-time in September of 1998 as Resident Musical Director. An education major at James Madison University, she used her background to develop Learning Library (or L2). As a musician, she created Aurora’s Musicals by Moonlight, and Aurora’s New Musical Initiative. She has performed as pianist and/or music director both nationally (Goodspeed Opera House, Pasadena Playhouse, The Cleveland Playhouse, The Kennedy Center) and locally (The Alliance, Theatrical Outfit, Georgia Ensemble Theatre, The Horizon). As a proud citizen of Gwinnett, Ann-Carol is most proud of Aurora Theatre winning the 26 AURORA THEATRE Gwinnett’s Only Professional Theatre first ever Pinnacle Award for Large Non-Profit. This goes well with her 4 Suzi Awards for Outstanding Music Direction for Mary Poppins and Les Misérables, Aurora’s world premiere of Clyde ’n Bonnie: A Folktale, and A Catered Affair and her multiple nominations for In the Heights, Memphis, A Year with Frog & Toad, Annie Get Your Gun, Godspell, Singin’ in the Rain and A Chorus Line. She is a participant in the 2016 Atlanta Regional Leadership Institute and member of the “Best Class Ever!”

JUSTIN ANDERSON (Associate Artistic Director) has served as Aurora Theatre's Associate Artistic Director since 2014. His directorial work has earned him both popular and critical praise, along with Seven Suzi Bass Award Nominations for Best Direction (Winner for Boublil and Schönberg’s LES MISÉRABLES at Aurora Theatre in 2013). He is also an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia where he directs and teaches courses in acting and musical theatre. He holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts from Campbell University and an M.A. in Theatre Studies from Regent University, with additional course study at Rutgers. KATIE ERIN CHAMBERS* is excited to be entering her 5th season with Aurora Theatre. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia, a member of Actor’s Equity, and a proud alumna of Aurora's 2013-14 Apprentice Company. She has previously stage managed in Atlanta for Horizon Theatre Company, Theatrical Outfit, Synchronicity Theatre and Habima Theatre. She has also served as coordinator for the New South Young Playwrights’ Festival, production manager for the Atlanta Musical Theatre Festival, and coordinator for the Atlanta Unified Auditions.

JULIE ALLARDICE RAY is a scenic designer for theatre, film, and television, and Associate Professor of Scenic Design at UGA. Her UGA designs include Cabaret, You Can’t Take It With You, Much Ado About Nothing, and Spring Awakening. For Aurora Theatre, Julie’s designed Christmas Canteen for three seasons, The Bridges of Madison County, and is working on the upcoming Mamma Mia! She has held various roles in multiple art departments, including Production Designer, Art Director, and Set Designer. Television credits include Netflix’s "Mindhunter", "The X Files", "Babylon 5", and production designs for the TV pilots "Anea" and "Donatella". BRADLEY BERGERON has been an Atlanta based designer and performer since 2005. He currently works as a User Experience Designer and Design Strategist at Thrive, an Atlanta based creative consultancy. Bradley holds a Master’s Degree in Industrial Design from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre from Georgia College & State University. Bradley serves as Technical Director and Production Designer for Broadway Dreams and is a proud member of IATSE Local 479, having most recently worked on the CW’s "Dynasty" reboot. Bradley appeared on this stage as Lancelot in Aurora Theatre's production of Camelot. Some of his favorite Lighting Designs include Grease at Serenbe Playhouse, Ain't Misbehavin with the Atlanta Lyric Theatre, and Clyde & Bonnie: A Folktale here at Aurora Theatre.

ALAN YEONG is lucky to be collaborating with an amazing production design team and acting company. Alan is a Professor of Costume Design at The University of West Georgia during the day, occasionally freelancing with metro Atlanta theatre companies for the past 17 years. He recently was honored with 2016 Broadway World Atlanta Regional Best Professional Costume Design for a Musical for Miss Saigon (Serenbe Playhouse). Several Suzi Bass Award nominations-- Miss Saigon (Serenbe Playhouse), Les Miserables (Aurora Theatre), The Little Foxes (Theatre-in-the-Square). SUZANNE HOLTKAMP  loves to work with Alan and the Canteen Crew and this year is no exception. A Suzi Bass nominated designer for Gypsy Theatre’s production of Moonlight & Magnolias, Suzanne’s most recent work has included assisting on Aurora and Theatrical Outfit's The Hunchback of Notre Dame and designing The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Much Ado About Nothing for Georgia Gwinnett College. When not costuming for theatre, Suzanne can be found in her costume bunker creating professional tutus and ballroom dance dresses. Suzanne is married to her crazy husband, Matthew, and enjoys embarrassing her two daughters, Margaret and Annabelle.

CODY RUSSELL is ecstatic to be working on this years Christmas Canteen. KATIE PELKEY (Company Manager) is celebrating ten seasons with Aurora! In 2013 Katie transitioned to the role of Company Manager, having previously served as Resident Stage Manager. She also created the highly-successful Stage Management Apprentice Company program that operates simultaneously with Aurora’s Acting Apprentice Company program. For five seasons she worked as Aurora’s Educational Resources Associate developing educational curriculum for teachers to use in conjunction with Aurora’s TYA Learning Library offerings. And for over a decade Katie served as Production Stage Manager for New Plays for Young Audiences, a prestigious TYA summer staged reading series based at New York University. She received her BA in Educational Theatre from New York University with a minor in Dramatic Literature. Many thanks to Michael and Maxwell for their love and support!

DANIEL POPE (Production Manager) is proud to be joining the great team at Aurora Theatre as Production Manager. Daniel has been a sound designer and engineer in the Atlanta area for the past seven years. He's had the pleasure of designing sound for the Aurora Theatre on many occasions on shows such as: Into the Woods, Christmas Canteen, Sweep, and most recently The Bridges of Madison County. Additionally, he's worked on countless other productions in the Atlanta theatre community including: Evita and A Streetcar Named Desire as Sound Designer and Production Manager at Serenbe Playhouse. Daniel received a Bachelors in Marketing with a specialization in sales and a minor in Music from The University of West Georgia in 2010.

ANDREW O'NEAL (Technical Director) is excited to start his first season with Aurora Theatre. Previously, Andrew came to Georgia from Virginia where he worked at Radford University as the Assistant Technical Director. Dylan Whitfield (Assistant Technical Director) is a recent graduate of the University of Georgia’s Department of Theatre and Film Studies where he graduated Cum Laude with a B.A. in Theatre. While at UGA, he was the Master Electrician and only undergraduate Lighting Designer of the Department of Theatre for 2 years. He was also the Technical Director of the nation’s oldest student-ran theatre group; The Thalian Blackfriars. More recently, Dylan has freelanced in Atlanta designing lights and working as a set & stage electrician for various venues and companies including, The Classic Center in Athens, Six Flags Over Georgia, 7 Stages of Atlanta, and ON Services.

SARAH THOMSON (Scenic Painter) loves to paint and has been gracing the sets of Aurora Theatre for the last 11 seasons. A resident of Johns Creek, she brings her talents and her crew of Jack and Dylan to support her in her endeavors. Sarah designed and painted sets for many years while her daughter danced with Susan Chambers Theatre Dance. In a previous life, she was the scenic artist for Casa Mañana Theatre, Casa on the Square, Fort Worth Ballet, Dallas Shakespeare in the Park, Dallas Summer Musicals and Six Flags. She has worked with Southwest Studios and Stageworks where she served as scenic artist. Children of a Lesser God also featured Sarah’s original artwork. She is accompanied by her man of the North, Ian.

DAISEAN GARRETT (Acting Apprentice) a recent graduate of the University of Alabama Birmingham, where he received his BA in Theatre. He is very thrilled to be a part of the 2017-18 Appco. Daisean has theatre experience in all aspects of the art, from Directing, costume design, set construction, play writing, etc. He is currently workshopping a series play he’s writing. But Daisean’s truest passion is performance, his most recent credits include King/Conceited Man The Little Prince, Major Magnus The Real Inspector Hound, Mr. Kirby You Can’t Take It with You ... CHEYANNE OSORIA is a first generation Dominican who recently graduated from Piedmont College with a B.A. in Musical Theatre. In 2016, Cheyanne was awarded the national first place title in the Upper Level Musical Theatre College Women at the NATS competition. Some of Cheyanne’s previous credits include: Chicago (Velma Kelly), All Shook Up (Lorraine), White Christmas (Betty Haynes), and Lillian E. Smith’s Strange Fruit (Mamie, Bess, & Preacher Dunwoodie). Benjamin Strickland was born and raised in Auburn Alabama, graduate of Auburn University, and is very excited to start working in the Atlanta Theatre scene as an apprentice of the Aurora Theatre. He loves building and playing with computers about as much as he loves performing, and will probably be entombed with his mouse and keyboard. CODY EVINS (Technical Theatre Apprentice), originally from Franklin, Tennessee, is a recent graduate of Furman University where he received a degree in Theatre Arts. In addition to his work with the Furman Theatre Department, he spent three years with the Furman Pauper Players, a student-run musical theatre troupe, and served as the president of that group in his final year. Recently he has worked as a stage manager and a scene shop assistant at Centre Stage South Carolina and as a props apprentice at the Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston, SC.

ANN-CAROL PENCE arranged the music for Aurora’s first Christmas Canteen in 1996 and was hired full-time in September of 1998 as Resident Musical Director. An education major at James Madison University, she used her background to develop Learning Library (or L2). As a musician, she created Aurora’s Musicals by Moonlight, and Aurora’s New Musical Initiative. She has performed as pianist and/or music director both nationally (Goodspeed Opera House, Pasadena Playhouse, The Cleveland Playhouse, The Kennedy Center) and locally (The Alliance, Theatrical Outfit, Georgia Ensemble Theatre, The Horizon). As a proud citizen of Gwinnett, Ann-Carol is most proud of Aurora Theatre winning the 26 AURORA THEATRE Gwinnett’s Only Professional Theatre first ever Pinnacle Award for Large Non-Profit. This goes well with her 4 Suzi Awards for Outstanding Music Direction for Mary Poppins and Les Misérables, Aurora’s world premiere of Clyde ’n Bonnie: A Folktale, and A Catered Affair and her multiple nominations for In the Heights, Memphis, A Year with Frog & Toad, Annie Get Your Gun, Godspell, Singin’ in the Rain and A Chorus Line. She is a participant in the 2016 Atlanta Regional Leadership Institute and member of the “Best Class Ever!”
