Join us on April 20 for a sneak peek at what your student can expect during the Aurora Theatre Academy Summer Camps. You’ll get to tour our facilities, see our enhanced safety measures, and meet the instructors. The Open House is a great way to introduce younger students to our Summer Camps so they can familiarize themselves and get comfortable at Aurora before camps start!

What distinguishes Aurora Theatre Academy from other drama classes is that students have the opportunity to rehearse and perform in a professional theatre, and their instructors are working professionals with years of real-world theatrical experience. In addition to receiving training to be a winner on stage, students build confidence, communication, and life skills that will be a valuable part of their bright futures.

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

We recognize that sending your students to in person activities during this time can cause trepidation. However, we want to assure you that Aurora Theatre is doing all it can to ensure the safety and well-being of your student(s). 

We are employing the following practices: 

  • A mask and temperature check is required to enter the building.
  • Students will maintain social distance during classes.
  • Class size strictly limited to 10.
  • Hand sanitizer will be readily available.
  • Health checks required for students and teachers before classes.
  • Holtkamp Heating & Air Conditioner has adjusted air intakes on the HVAC system to continuously circulate fresh air.
  • Bathrooms have been upgraded to include automatic faucets and hand soap dispensers.
  • High touch surfaces will be sanitized regularly and before classes.

Musical Theatre, Grades rising 3-12
July 5-23, 10:30am-4pm
Tuition: $625*

Disney’s Moana JR. is a 60-minute musical adaptation of the 2016 Disney animated film, bringing the adventures of Moana and her village of Motunui to life onstage. Moana JR. features all the beloved songs from the film, written by Tony®, GRAMMY, Emmy, and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foa’i, and Mark Mancina, including “How Far I’ll Go,” “Shiny,” and “You’re Welcome.”

This thrilling and heartwarming coming-of-age story follows the strong-willed Moana as she sets sail across the Pacific to save her village and discover the truth about her heritage. Moana and the legendary demigod Maui embark on an epic journey of self-discovery and camaraderie as both learn to harness the power that lies within. With empowering messages of bravery and selflessness, Moana JR. is sure to bring out the hero within each of us.


Special Performance! Students will perform Moana JR outdoors in the new Courtyard at Lawrenceville Performing Arts Center

Heroes and Villains ($300*)
Acting
Grades rising 1 – 3: June 14-18
Grades rising 4-5: June 21-25

In this one-week camp, students learn what it takes to put on a performance. This production class will provide students with valuable stage experience, all the while encouraging teamwork and collaboration with peers. The experience instills a sense of self-confidence in our students. In these full-day sessions, students will be active participants in creating portions of the sets, costumes, and props for these exciting, whirlwind productions presented to family and friends.


Find Your Happy Place ($300*)
Musical Theatre
Grades rising 1 – 5
June 7-11

Join us this summer for a Trolls-inspired musical theatre camp. Kids Just Wanna Have Fun and rock out to some of their favorite music. This Troll-tastic magical, musical camp will be filled with Rainbows, Unicorns, and Everything Nice!

 


Magic and Mischief ($300*)
Acting
Grades rising 1-3: June 28-July 2
Grades rising 4-5: June 28-July 2

Ready to put on your best robes? The Wizarding World of Harry Potter provides the inspiration for this digital camp. Students will create their own magical world when they receive their admission letter to Hogwarts along with materials to craft wands, a puppet pal, and school uniform. Activities include the sorting ceremony, designing and building a wand, wizarding classes like transfiguration, potions, and charms, and an adventure to save the wizard world from exposure to muggles! 

Camp times are 10:30am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday


Showstoppers ($300*)
Musical Theatre Intensive, Grades rising 6 – 12
June 14-25

This one-week camp is perfect for students wanting to improve their triple-threat skills of signing, acting and dancing. Using all three disciplines to be better storytellers is the goal of this musical theatre intensive. Students will work on pieces form favorites Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen, and more to hone all three disciplines to be better storytellers and perform in a showcase at the end of the week for friends and family!

 


Mirror of Most Value: A Ms. Marvel Play ($300*)
Scene Study-Acting Intensive, Grades rising 6 – 12
June 21-25

The super hero genre is a billion dollar entertainment industry and favorite of young actors. The story of Mirror Of Most Value: A Ms. Marvel Play surrounds a strange Terrigen Mist that descends upon Jersey City and imbues our hero Kamala Khan with polymorphic powers. The perfect playground for students to sharpen their acting skills through scene study.


Audition Bootcamp ($300*)
Advanced Acting, Grades rising 6 – 12
June 28-July 2

Confidence is the key to winning any audition. Preparation is the tool to give actors confidence and the goal of this one-week audition boot camp. Learn from working professionals and sharpen your technique to feel confident in any audition situation. Students will explore cold reads, monologues, music, choreography and more!

*There is a one-time New Student Registration Fee of $25, if applicable. A discount is available for families with multiple students.
